Rain in Delhi

Delhi has been experiencing heavy rainfall, causing significant waterlogging across various areas. Rain is expected intermittently, with thunderstorms moving across the region until mid-September. The city typically experiences high temperatures around 35°C during the day, dropping to about 26°C at night. Rainfall for September is generally around 94 mm, spread across a few days​.. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert, signaling the likelihood of more heavy rain throughout the weekend. The downpour is expected to disrupt transport, potentially affecting roads, railways, and flights, with warnings of possible power outages​.The maximum temperature is around 28°C, which is notably cooler than usual for this time of year.

Authorities have advised people to stay alert, especially regarding traffic, as waterlogging has impacted major roads like Rohtak Road, NH-48, and Lala Lajpat Rai Marg. The Delhi Traffic Police has shared multiple advisories for alternative routes.
